Welcome to my new blog Wild in the Big Ten!
This blog covers natural health, replanting paradise on earth, primal living in the modern world, wild/raw food, and having the best day ever!
My name is Mark and I'm a sophomore at Indiana University at Bloomington studying shit that doesn't suck that much. I was born and raised in the liberal town of Oak Park, IL. Oak Park is the first suburb west of Chicago and we are connected by both the green and blue 'L' line trains. My rule for saying that you are from Chicago if you live in the suburbs is if you are connected by the train or not. Douches from Naperville are not from Chicago. Chicago rocks, by the way.
Know for Ernest Hemmingway and Frank Lloyd Wright, Oak Park is teeming with diversity and was named “Gay Town USA” a few years back and the high school, Oak Park and River Forest HS is frequently headlined as “Smoke Park and Reefer Forest." I tend to be a liberal libertarian.
My fascination with natural health arrived back when I was lanky freshman on the volleyball team trying to pack on pounds. My personal journey for vigor, strength, and ultimate health over the last five years has taken me from poopy protein shakes from GNC and brown rice to pastured eggs, raw milk, superfoods, and spring water. My goal in life right now is to eat the best food ever and I'm ready for the adventure it takes me.
I find myself somewhere between Daniel Vitalis, Joseph Mercola, David Wolfe, Anthony Anderson, HunterGatherLove, John Durant, Mark Sisson, Ron Paul, Alan Grayson, and Alex Jones.
I'll provide my unique perspective of living natural while partying at a Big Ten university. Also, with the boundless inspiration from the great folks at Blackbird Natural's I'll be starting my first food forest with their superfood and veggie patch seed collection. Should be an awesome year!
